Battle for the Basement Ends in Stalemate
Unlike the previous game, this game featured desolate benches where there were as many subs as there are people who can honestly say they slept with Trent's mom and did not get an STD. The Beer Heads and Team Pound played to a 1-1 tie where all of the scoring came in the 2nd period. With scoring chance coming every 15 seconds, Nick Riechts of the Beer Heads was finally able to break the deadlock by rifling a shot that got deflected off of Team Pound defenseman Brent Saatoff. Then, what would seem like a win for the Beerheads, Team Pound pulled their goalie in the last minute to give the offense more juice. That didn't matter as the Beer Heads moved their defense out of the way and opened the net for a clear goal from Tony Dreibus of Team Pound. Motives for this "mercy" goal were to have the 4th seed and the early game. With this tie, the Beer Heads will faceoff against the Angry Beavers @ 6:30p and Team Pound will play Billy and the Boingers at 7:30p.
