Last Second Heroics Get Tie for Angry Beavers

Who says crime doesn't pay? The Angry Beaver's defenseman Kevin French, the only guy to serve penalty that game (in fact, he served two), scored the game tying goal in the waning seconds of the 2nd half to end the game in a tie against Billy and the Boingers: 1-1. Early in the first period, Billy and the Boingers caught an amazing break with a 2-on-1. Steve Svendson, best known for his classic green helmet, fed a pass across the middle to Mark Thomas. Mark roofed the shot over substitute goalie Bill Sitton for the what would seem to be the only goal in the game. A tight defensive match ensued where only a few shots made it down to the net. Andy Bradfield of the Beaver looked to have the only scoring opportunity for the team when had a breakaway but was denied by the rotation of goaltenders from the Boingers team. That would all change though. Angry Beaver's Kevin French, fresh off of a tripping and high sticking penalties, received a pass from Mike "Rook" Mollner with their goalie pulled. With that pass, he was able to fire a missile on the ground into the back of the net with less than 20 seconds left. The game ended up in a tie.
