Old Rivals Battle For the Basement
What would used to be the Fighting Sallys versus The Nads, is now Team Pound vs. BeerHeads. Many players have come and gone on both squads, but it didn't make this game any less interesting as the Beerheads took their first game of the series 3-1. After an initial redirect goal by Team Pound's Lou Witkam off of a blaster from Brent Saatoff, the Beerhead's Brad Bell was able to even it up before the half by getting his fastest slapshot behind goaltender Pete Wetzel, clocking in at 8 mph. In the second half, it was all Beerheads as Eric Kamin and Carey Durbin traded goals and assists to put the game away. Late in the match, Team Pound was able to get a little pressure in the Beerhead zone, but goaltender Mike Parks stoned them cold.
