Champions Battle Back to Beat Team Pound

After going down after an early goal, Billy and the Boingers bounce back and score two to win 2-1 over Team Pound. Trent Huebner, off of a pass from Lou Witkam, was able to drive home a shot deep in the crease. Soon after, the Boingers took a massive control of the game, spending the next 10 minutes entirely inside of Team Pounds zone. Late in the half, it pays off as Brian Karre was able to backhand a goal in from a feed from Steve Anderson. In the 2nd half, early on, Tom baker was able to make a move on defenseman Brent Saatoff and drill one into the corner of the net. This would be the final answer as Team Pound was unable to get a drive going. On a amazing note, Billy and the Boingers' goaltender Steve Young made a brilliant save off of a shot coming from the other side of the ice by Team Pound goaltender Pete Wetzel. Obviously Pete's enormous strength and ability was seen by the many broomball scouts in the stadium and will probably be one of the big pickups in everyone's fantasy broomball league.
