Inaugural Fremont Game Sets Records of All Sorts

It was a rematch of the 1st round playoffs of last session and the first game of the Omaha Broomball's season at Fremont, NE; the Angry Beavers were able to head off the Beerheads 3-1 on Sunday night. The scoring started with a beautiful setup from Jon Ludvigsen to Steve Galeski mid-1st half. Almost immediately after, Eric Kamin, after sitting out much of last season, was able to still the ball and drive the ice for a breakaway unassisted goal. The 2nd half featured all Beavers where Andy Bradfield was able to get back on his scoring ways and put two in the net coming from Jon Ludvigsen and Steve Galeski each. But the real story of the game came where many records were broken.

Records Broken:

  • quickest consecutive penalties by the same player: Kevin French
  • quickest 3 penalties in a game: Kevin French, Brian Karre
  • highest attendance: 6 (7 including the janitor)
  • most amount of on-ice referees who have mated with a sheep
  • most amount of broomball players wearing shorts when their legs are more white than the ice
