Angry Beavers Take Home The Crown
After many sessions of missed playoffs and first round losses, the Angry Beavers lift the curse and bring home the 1st place trophy. In a game that featured only one goal, every play was tight, every shot hard, and every break being much needed. The only difference came in the intangible form: heart and experience. Too many times have the Angry Beavers let their hopes of victory slip away and nobody was going to stop them this time. Team Pound, a team that was formed this session from people of various teams and new players, played gallantly. After playing a tooth-n-nail battle with the Beer Heads immediately before, it seemed only human that they could only fight for so long.
It took a shot wide from the slot from Mike "Rook" Mollner that was slapped in by Brady Murphy to put the Angry Beavers in the lead early in the 2nd half. After that goal, the entire Angry Beaver bench cleared to hug Brady as if it was the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team scoring the final goal against team U.S.S.R. A celebration that could only be matched by the final seconds ticking off the clock and sealing the victory for Angry Beavers. In the words of Team Captain Andy Bradfield, "Whoa, Dude.... whoa."
