Back and Forth Battle Nets Team Pound with 1st Place

The two perennial powerhouses matched up on Sunday for another classic battle. With shots and amazing touch passes going back and forth for each team, it was anyones guess at half time who would win the match between the Beer Heads and Team Pound. It was a scoreless bout until 3 minutes left in the second half when Lou Witkam feed a breakaway pass to Team Pound's Trent Huebner. Huebner was able to stay one step ahead of the Beer Heads Eric Kamin and make an impossible lower corner shot past Beer Heads goaltender Mike Parks. This goal lead the scoring way for two more breakaway goals from Team Pound's Todd Miller and Tony Dreibus (John Willis and Brett Sobotka on the assists respectively). Even with a 3 goal lead, the Beer Heads didn't give up. After getting a powerplay off of a tripping call, the Beer Heads brang the house with shot after shot on goal. Team Pound and their goaltender Pete Wetzel was able to hold their ground and keep the shutout as they clinched 1st place in the league.
