Late Goal Lifts Beerheads
When two of the most veteran teams in the Omaha Broomball league clash, you are guaranteed an amazing game to watch. And on Sunday, that is exactly what happened after the Beerheads were able to rebound after a one goal deficit from Billy and the Boingers and score the game winner with less than 10 seconds left in the game. In the first period, the Boingers' Brian-to-Brian train was running non-stop as Brian Karre was able to roof a shot from a feed from Brian Smith. In the second, the BeerHeads Chris Clem was able to answer their goal by firing a low shot after receiving a pass from Carey Durbin. This, however, wasn't the last of Durbin's points for the night. With the clock reaching 7 seconds, Durbin was able to take a assist from Brad "Belldozer" Bell at the point and put it past Boingers Goaltender Steve Young on the far post. This win puts the Beer Heads alone at second place and the Boingers fall to third place.
