DAVENPORT TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Team Omaha went 1-0-2 and advanced to the semifinal
round.

Game results were as follows:
Omaha 1, The Flock from Chicago 0
Omaha 1, Cincinnati Stars 1
Omaha 2, Cleveland 2
Semifinal game
Omaha 0, Cincinnati Flying Pigs 3
Cincinnati ended up winning the tourney by beating
Cleveland 2 to 1.
Note - Shaun Nepodal led the team by scoring 3 of
Omaha's goals.
Skills competition - Steve Andersen and Andy Bradfield
finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the skills
competitions (separated by a measly .05 of a second).
COLORADO SPRINGS TOURNEY
The Omaha team placed second in the rec division at the tournament.
Unfortunately only 5 players made the trip to Colorado. Colorado was nice enough
to give us 3 players to help us in the tourney. We lost the first game with 8 players,
and due to scheduling conflicts we had to play our second game with only 5. It was a very slow, time wasting
victory but pretty exciting for us. That win sent us to the Championship game (where we had
our 8 players again--and very good players they were) but we were unable to hold our early lead
and lost 4-3 to some really fast team.

The Nads won the winter tournament by defeating Deathtongue 2-1 in the championship game.
Gabe and Chris Klem scored goals for the Nads, and Tom Baker had 1 for Deathtongue. The Nads
got to the championship by pulling away from the Beerguts in the second period to notch a 5-1 win.
Deathtongue shut out Tiger Toms in the second games 3-0 to reach the final. Thanks to everybody for
a great season and see you in the Fall.
Danny Kozial was selected as the League MVP for the Winter League. He led the league in scoring during
the regular season and was given the award based on perfomance on the ice and sportsmanship.
2002 OKOBOJI BROOMBALL RECAP
Omaha Fairway Tiger Toms Finish in 2nd Place.
The Toms got off to an excellent start by beating the
Ferguson team from Minnesota 7-6 in their first game.
The game went through regulation and sudden death OT.
Their victory was secured in the shoot out that
followed.
The Toms advanced through the winner's bracket of the
13 team field to advance to championship game at
Sunday noon where they met up, once again, with
Fergusons. Fergusons needed to beat the Toms twice
for the championship. They did it be beating Omaha
3-0 and 2-1 in two close, back to back, games.
The Omaha Nads -
The Omaha Nads won their first game decisively. In
their 2nd game, the Nads met up w/ the Bob Cornel
Construction (BCC). The game was hard hitting and wet
with temperatures of 60 degrees. Regulation ended
with a scoreless tie. BCC was able to beat the Nads
1-0 in a shoot out in this beer brawl of a game.
Although disappointed, the Nads resumed drinking and a
good time was had by all.
Powder Puff Championship
Congratulations to Keri Andersen who helped the
Tweeters achieve victory in the Powder Puff
Championship. Keri said the hitting in the all
women's game was harder than that of the men's games.
Thank You
Special thanks to Bob Shaw and the folks from the
Winter Games for organizing this great event. Also,
special thanks to the crew from Des Moines for their
solid effort and play for both the Omaha teams.
For more information on this event, check Okoboji.com.

OKOBOJI
Congratulations to both Fairway Spuds and
Fairway Tiger Toms in finishing 2nd and 3rd,
respectively, at the 2001 Okoboji Winter Games Outdoor
Broomball Tourney. The Tourney took place Super Bowl

over the Fairway Tiger Tom team.
The final game took place in knee deep water w/ the

Good shooting to Danny Kozial who scored the winning
shot in both the All-Omaha game and the Spuds victory over
Minnesota Ferguson's team in the quarter finals.
